Theo screamed in pain. His wing bent along with the spoon, "Let go of me elf!"

"What?" Lila squeaked, looking down at Theo. "I'm not an elf, I'm a human. Oh! I'm sorry, are you alright?" She got off of him and hovered worriedly, not sure what to do.

The Professor quickly made his way out the door toward his assistant and the winged boy. "Good show, Lila. Good thing you caught him, he might have hurt himself."

"I think I did enough of that for him, sir," Lila said, sulking guiltily.

Rain joined the professor and end around Theo, his friend leaving Theo in the doorway. "You broke the splint!"

Theo lay in his pain and blood. He cried but still tried to pull himself up, there was still hope, there had to be hope.

"Oh dear me," said the Professor, rushing to Theo's side. "Don't move, child. Here, eat this." He pulled a small paper wrapped package out of one of his bags and unwrapped it to reveal a small vanilla coloured cake, icing overflowing out of the middle. It was really one of the numbing agents, the icing laced with minor sedative--he preferred all his medicine in cake form. He gave held it out to Theo. "Trust me, it will ease the pain."

"I don't want your elf food!" Theo cried more trying again to get up, "Help me up, I'll get home on my own!"

Rain backed away, unsure of what to do, and stared at the cake and Theo.

"It's not elf food, it's human food," The Professor corrected. He said, "Now, you're not going to be able to get home with broken wings, so just shut your mouth and let us help you. Eat the cake."

"You are elf lairs!" Theo cried covering his face in the ground and with his arms.

"Calm doen, Theo, we're only trying to help," Rain tried to say sortly but wasn't sure if it worked. She wanted to help him, but with his obvious fear of elves she stayed back.

"Yes Theo, I'm an elf," Rain tried to console him, "but I don't want to hurt you. I'll help you're wing and I'll help you get home." She stepped forward and leaned down beside him, hoping he wouldn't get more upset by her presence.

Lila patted Theo's arm. "I know I tackled you, but I don't want to hurt you and I'm not an elf. I'm really sorry."

The Professor sighed, beginning to feel irritated, "Please, just let us help you."

"Come on," said the Professor softly, putting a hand on Theo's head. "You can't get home if your wings are broken. Come back inside and we'll fix them for you." He stroked the boy's hair in an attempt to be comforting. "We're not going to.... steal your light?"

"We're trying to get you back home, you stupid child!" The Professor huffed, exasperated. "We're not going to take your light or keep you fallen down here!" He decided that if all Nasigh were this difficult, he didn't want anything to do with them.

Theo didn't budge, if he wait a while they go away, just don't say anything, don't provoke them.

"T-theo?" Rain wished she could go closer to him but the new blood that was beginning to show through the torn bandages prevented her from it.

The Professor gave a heavy sigh. "Alright, Lila, help me carry him inside." He put his arms underneath the boy and Lila did the same on the other side. Together they tried to lift him up and carry him to the house. He was surprising light.

Theo flailed as the two of the grabbed him. He hadn't planned on them doing something like that. He hated being so light, "Let me go you elves!"
